Challenge: Parking Management
St. Mary’s Square Garage is located in the very busy Financial District directly adjacent to, the equally busy, Chinatown in San Francisco, CA. In addition to the traditional challenges of operating a garage of this size, DAJA had to adapt to San Francisco’s new Transit First Policy which meant encouraging the use of public transportation and carpooling. Additionally, DAJA managed through a complete earthquake renovation, thereby losing various sections of the garage to the construction company during the renovation.
Result: Maximizing Capacity
DAJA successfully signed up more carpoolers than any other City-owned garage. The garage is open 24-hours per day and served both valet and self-park customers. Using our innovative, industry-leading management services, we routinely exceeded the targeted capacity levels for transient, monthly permit holders and carpool consumers each day. The most difficult challenge was in maintaining the pre-construction revenue levels. DAJA met that challenge by going even further and increased revenue levels in spite of the reduction in space. DAJA routinely out-performed revenue projections for this garage.
